Julianne Burke

Long time patron and first time Blackfryar, Julianne spices up the Shire as Ginger Anise, Herb Mistress (a.k.a. Spice Girl #1). As such, she delights in sharing her encyclopedic knowledge of how to dramatically improve the quality of one's life through the wondrous power of herbs and spices. Be it a touch of rheumatism or toothache or just a neighbor's annoying dog that won't stop barking at night, Ginger's got an herb to fix everything! When not playing Ginger, Julianne wears her geekdom proudly and revels in reading and writing fanfiction, particularly in the Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Battlestar Galactica fandoms. She also geeks out with her Sherlock Holmes society and attends Sci-Fi conventions where she cosplays the Tenth Doctor, and the greatest moment of her life was when David Tennant brushed her knee. On the more serious side, she is an ardent activist for social issues including women's rights, atheist, gay, and animal rights. She is also studying to become a Secular Humanist Celebrant/Minister in order to serve the Freethinking community. Additionally, she and the two loves of her life, her kitties Mina and Owen, volunteer as pet therapy in hospices. Julianne is happily divorced, and currently accepting applications for "Geek in Shining Armor".
