The Parting Glass

(PARF version)

Of all the money e're I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that e're I've done,
Alas was done to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit,
To memory now I can't recall.
So fill to me the parting glass,
Goodnight and joy be with you all.

Of all the fellows e're I had,
They're sorry for my going away.
And all the sweethearts e're I had,
They'd wish me one more day to stay.
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not.
I'll gently rise and softly call,
Goodnight and joy be with you all.

(Queen speaks the following)
My Good People! We thank you all for this most glorious day.
Ne'er has a Prince been more blessed than I.
For you are not only our people, but our heart, our breath and our soul.
God Save You All; My Good People!

But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not.
I'll gently rise and softly call,
Goodnight and joy be with you all.

(cast breaks into singing "Canaan's Land")
